Please be sure to congratulate David, Jared, Bradley, Heath and Jose the next time you see them!

On January 21st Dr. Beeson approved the Smart Bag to replace the current Ambu BVM.
This change is set to begin March 1st after everyone has completed the EPAB Quarterly CE in February. The Smart Bags will replace the Ambu BVMs as they are used.
Be sure to attend the CE to get all of the training and details of this innovative ventilatory tool.
To learn more about the Smart Bag BVM before the next CE visit http://www.otwo.com/prod_bmv.htm, and as always feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
The second EPAB Quarterly CE for 2010 is now in the planning stage. This quarter our focus will be on Incident Command and the new MedStar Emergency Response Plan(MERP). We are very excited about this upcoming CE and some of the changes coming to the program. Beginning this quarter we will be opening these course to all of the providers in the system and strongly encouraging our FRO partners to attend. In order to accomplish this goal we will be splitting the class locations between MedStar and various Fire Departments in our service area. Look for more information regarding these changes along with dates and locations of the upcoming classes in the near future.
This CE is still mandatory for all MedStar Field Ops and Communications Employees, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible after the clas dates are posted as the class sizes are limited. If you cannot make it to the class you sign up for please let us know as early as possible so that we can make your spot available for someone else.
The sign up sheets will be on the EPAB board downstairs when they are available, and you will also be able to find all the dates, times and locations for the classes on the EPAB Calendar once they have been set.

Congratulations to MedStar EMS, the exclusive ambulance service provider to 15 Tarrant County cities, for joining the elite group of medical transportation service providers that are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).
Of the 2,500 licensed ambulance providers in North America, only 133 are CAAS accredited. With this achievement, MedStar becomes only the fourth ambulance service to be accredited in the state of Texas.
